New Board Appointments at Port Saint John
Saint John, N.B.- Two Saint Johners with extensive public service/government experience have been added to the board roster at Port Saint John. Peter McGuire and Jack Keir were appointed port authority directors in July 2019.Jack Keir, a former New Brunswick MLA and Minister of Energy, is the founding chair of the Fundy Regional Facilities Commission. Among his positions, Keir has served in the Office of the Premier, the Saint John Harbour Bridge Authority and was the Executive Director of the Regional Services Commission.“We’re really pleased to have Jack and Peter join our board,” says Jim Quinn, President & CEO of Port Saint John. “Their extensive community and governmental experience will undoubtedly be an asset for our authority’s governing team.”Peter McGuire is a former Saint John city councillor and retired community mental health professional. During his 37-year career in government, McGuire provided leadership to numerous innovative community mental health programs. During his two terms as city councillor, McGuire oversaw civic pension reform, the building of police, justice and transit headquarters, and the completion of the Saint John Harbour Clean-Up Project.McGuire and Keir join fellow directors Shelley Rinehart, David Emerson, Thomas O’Neil, Vice Chair Donna Gates and Chair Lisa Keenan for 2019-20.
