Less than one month until all-female ocean racing yacht, Maiden, stops in Saint John on world tour
SAINT JOHN (NB) – Planning continues as the one-month mark passes for Maiden’s arrival at the Port of Saint John. Maiden’s mission is to work with, raise funds for and support communities to enable girls into education and empower and support them to remain throughout their teenage years to reach their full potential and create better futures for all. Maiden launched from Dubai in January for her three-year, 90,000nm journey, sponsored by global logistics leader DP World.

Port Saint John strongly supports the mission of the DP World sponsored tour and advocates for a more diverse maritime sector. The education of girls is the foundation to this more diverse future.
”Maiden will dock at Pugsley Slip in uptown Saint John, near the AREA506 Waterfront Container Village from August 3rd to August 13th where there will be opportunity for the public to engage with the vessel and crew and also private events for local groups who work with girls in STEAM. On Tuesday August 9th, DP World and Port Saint John are hosting a Maiden International Ports of Call fundraising dinner at the Marco Polo Cruise Terminal. Inspired by the Maiden’s 2022 World Tour, this 4-course culinary adventure will feature a menu based on the yacht’s ports of call from Dubai to Miami, Spain to New York City. The evening will feature special guest speakers Tracy Edwards MBE, Founder of the Maiden Factor Foundation and Meaghan Geis, from Royal Caribbean Cruises.
The dinner is a fundraiser to assist the Maiden Factor Foundation in their important work. It’s estimated 130 million girls around the world are currently denied an education and research shows that given 12 years of education, girls can change their futures, their communities, and the world.
