Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Win 2024 Port Impact Award

June 7, 2024 (Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada)

Saint John, NB- Yesterday, at their annual Port Days event in Saint John, Port Saint John presented Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings (NCLH) with the 2024 Port Impact Award. The Award- in its first year- recognizes a company or individual who shows commitment to business growth, community investment, and sustainability initiatives in the Greater Saint John Region.

Since 1995, NCLH and their brands Norwegian Cruise Line, Oceania Cruises, and Regent Seven Seas Cruises have consistently called on the Port city, with their ships accounting for the majority of cruise calls in 2023 and over a third of cruise visitation in 2024, with 27 calls.

In recent years, they have elevated efforts in Saint John. In 2023, Norwegian and Regent vessels were both environmental rebate recipients and piloted a community outreach program for six underserved families from local neighbourhoods. During this year’s Port Days, they continue their commitment by hosting a sustainability tour for government dignitaries. Sandi Weir, Global Government Relations & Public Affairs for Norwegian, was on hand to accept the award from Port Saint John Chief Operating Officer Andrew Dixon on June 6th.

“We are fortunate to have a cruise partner like Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings consistently calling on the Bay of Fundy,” says Natalie Allaby, Director of Cruise Excellence at Port Saint John. “Their continued support of Saint John and the Southern New Brunswick economy, along with their community and environmental initiatives over the past decades, make them a perfect fit for this accolade.”
